For the safety of our participants and audience, the Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus has made the decision to postpone our planned performance of The Truckee Historical Revue at Piper’s Opera House in Virginia City.  The NEW PERFORMANCE DATE - NEXT SUMMER Sunday, September 4, 2022.  Composed, arranged, and written by Truckee local David Wendell Nelson, with music by Richard Blair, the show recreates the hugely successful production from May 2019 that traces the history of Truckee and surrounding areas, beginning with Native American days and culminating with the 1960 Olympics in Squaw Valley.  It recounts truths about the Gold Rush, Railroad Building, Mining, Boca Beer, Chinese and Irish immigrants, and legends including the Donner Party.  To honor the connection between Truckee and Virginia City, TTCC will debut Richard Blair’s new song “Ode to Virginia City”.  Live musicians and a video collection of historic images and photos will accompany the production. McAvoy Layne will narrate the show as Mark Twain. Susan K Horst will conduct the fifty participants, all in period attire, including the barbershop group The OK Chorale, and special guests Owen Lee and Andy Zeng.
